Job summary

Harmons is seeking a Warehouse Associate in West Valley City, UT to ensure efficient shipping, receiving, inventory management, and materials handling in a high-volume production environment. You will coordinate shipments, maintain accurate records, and follow FSMA/HACCP standards to support audits and timely material flow.

The role requires forklift operation, strong organization, and communication skills, with ability to work weekends/evenings and maintain clean, safe work areas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; or combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Previous experience in warehouse logistics, shipping/receiving, or inventory control preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (FSMA, HACCP) and allergen handling is a plus.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely.
  • Must obtain Harmons’ Forklift Certification.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
  • Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills to communicate with customers and associates.
  • Must possess integrity, a positive attitude and be team-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Unload and stage materials safely and efficiently.
  • Pick, stage, and prepare outgoing loads for store deliveries.
  • Coordinate with vendors and drivers to schedule and manage pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Record all inventory movements within the management system.
  • Rotate stock and adhere to FIFO inventory practices.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies promptly to management.
  • Handle allergen ingredients in compliance with Harmons and FSMA standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shipping, receiving, and storage areas.
  • Follow food safety, QA and sanitation protocols (FSMA, HACCP).
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines and facility safety standards.
  • Coordinate with production, sanitation, and QA teams for efficient material flow.
  • Communicate delays or issues affecting timelines promptly.
  • Maintain shipping/receiving documentation for audits and traceability.
  • Support logistics with special projects as assigned.

$19.82 - $21.64 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to ensure efficient shipping, receiving, inventory management, and materials handling in a high-volume production environment. This position supports operational flow by coordinating shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and adhering to food safety and compliance standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Unload and stage materials safely and efficiently
  • Pick, stage, and prepare outgoing loads for delivery to stores in accordance with order specifications
  • Coordinate with vendors and drivers to schedule and manage pick-ups and deliveries
  • Accurately record all incoming and outgoing products within the inventory management system
  • Rotate stock and ensure adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits
  • Report shortages, damages, or inventory discrepancies promptly to management
  • Handle allergen ingredients in compliance with Harmons and FSMA standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shipping, receiving, and storage areas
  • Follow all food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation protocols (FSMA, HACCP, etc.)
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment
  • Adhere strictly to OSHA guidelines and facility safety standards when handling products and chemicals
  • Coordinate with production, sanitation, and quality control teams to maintain an efficient and timely material flow
  • Communicate any delays, issues, or concerns that may impact production or shipping timelines promptly
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and thorough shipping and receiving documentation to support audits and traceability
  • Support the logistics team with special projects and tasks as assigned
  • Assists as needed to ensure the success of the facility as a whole
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
