Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking a Central Processing Technician to support the Laboratory services team in patient and new hire lab testing.

The role involves clerical duties, specimen preparation, blood draws for outpatients and new employees, and proper handling of all specimens. A HS Diploma/GED is required with 1–2 years phlebotomy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years phlebotomy experience required.
• Knowledge of hospital, federal, and state patient safety regulations.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Must have transportation to report to off site patient service center.

Job Details

The Central Processing Technician is an essential member of the Laboratory services team conducting all patient and new hire lab testing.

Responsibilities

• Clerical duties to include answering phones, filing and the mailing and faxing of patient reports.
• Preparing specimens to be sent out for reference lab testing.
• Outpatient and new employee blood drawing.
• Handling,labeling and processing of all specimens.

Requirements

• Medical Assistantor Phlebotomy Certification preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of hospital, federal, and state patient safety, infection controlregulations and guidelines.
• 1-2 years recent phlebotomy experience required.
• HS Diploma/GED Required.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer serviceand communication skills.
• Must have transportation to report to our off site patient service center to draw bloods.

Salary Range

USD $32.41 - USD $32.41 /Hr.
