Job summary

The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) seeks an LPN to join the Central Ohio Behavioral Healthcare team in Columbus, OH. The role delivers medication education, observes patient responses, and participates in safety rounds as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

This full-time, permanent hourly position offers a pay rate of $27.56 per hour, a 2:30 pm–11:00 pm schedule, and union representation by OCSEA.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ohio Board of Nursing and completion of an approved medication administration course.
• If dialysis is performed, certification in IV Therapy is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide medication, education, and empowerment to individuals.
• Observe, evaluate, and record patient behavior, condition, and response to medication.
• Monitor patient health including vital signs, treatment plan progress, and activity participation.
• Serve as a multi-disciplinary team member contributing to safety and observation rounds and group facilitation.

Additional Information

This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 10. On the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. This position is located within our Central Ohio Behavior Healthcare Campus at 2200 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223.

Qualifications:

License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 OhioRevised Code & proof of completion of an approved course in medication administration.

Licensed Practical Nurses who administer dialysis treatment must possess Certification in IV Therapy pursuant to Section 4723.17 Ohio Revised Code.
