Job summary

Bold Business in Houston seeks an experienced Central Office Installation Technician to install, integrate, and support optical transport gear in carrier environments. You will work with Ciena 6500 platforms, ROADM shelves, and DC power systems, ensuring wiring, testing, and documentation meet customer specs and safety standards.

You will read engineering drawings, perform turn-ups, verify fiber continuity, and coordinate with engineering and network operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Central Office telecommunications installation experience.
• Hands-on experience installing Ciena 6500 optical transport systems.
• Experience with RLS equipment including ROADM shelves and amplifiers.
• Knowledge of DWDM networks and fiber infrastructure.
• Experience with DC power (-48VDC), grounding, and alarm wiring.

Responsibilities

• Install and integrate Ciena 6500 systems, including chassis and optics.
• Configure RLS equipment, ROADM shelves, amplifiers, and WSS components.
• Perform DC power terminations, grounding, and alarm wiring per standards.
• Route and terminate fiber, copper, and coaxial cabling.
• Read engineering drawings and MOP documents for installations.
• Support equipment turn-up by verifying fiber, alarms, and power.
• Maintain installation documentation and inventory records.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with engineering and operations.
• Maintain OSHA safety compliance and customer standards.
