Job summary

Cameron Hospital in Angola, IN is seeking a Central Access Scheduler. This full-time position schedules outpatient appointments, pre-registers patients, and verifies orders in line with clinical guidelines, insurance rules, and regulatory requirements.

Shift is day hours, 80 hours bi-weekly, Monday–Friday, off-site from the hospital on Washington Street. The role emphasizes clerical and phone skills, data entry, excellent communication, and patient service as part of a coordinated Central Access

Responsibilities

• Schedules non-emergency services.
• Collects pre-admission information and pre-registers patients per the schedule.
• Verifies all scheduled procedures have a valid physician’s order, if not, an order is obtained.
• Communicate with ancillary departments regarding schedule availability
• Provides back up for pre-registration/pre-authorization as needed.
• Reviews all procedures, emails and updates as needed.
• Checks for medical necessity.

JOB SUMMARY

Schedules outpatient appointments and pre-registers patients for their appointments according to established clinical guidelines, insurance regulations and regulatory requirements. Completes appointment scheduling with subsequent order entry, medical necessity checking and pre-certification screening.

Two years scheduling in the Medical Field
