Job summary

Carlie C's IGA is seeking a data-driven Category Manager to lead Center Store categories such as Dry Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, and Health & Beauty Care.

You will own category P&L, manage vendor relationships, pricing strategies, and promotional planning to maximize sales and profitability across store locations.

The role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on merchandising expertise, and the ability to travel between stores as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive retail management experience in grocery, focused on Center Store operations.
• Strong understanding of planograms, cross-merchandising, seasonal transitions, and consumer buying behaviors.
• Proven ability to train, mentor, and hold teams accountable with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read financial reports, sales data, and inventory metrics to drive profitable decisions.
• Willingness to travel between store locations.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: develop and execute category business plans to achieve sales, margin, and turnover goals.
• Assortment Optimization: review and refine product offerings, onboard new products, discontinue underperforming SKUs.
• Vendor Management: lead negotiations with suppliers for cost, funding, and promotional support.
• Pricing & Promotions: establish competitive pricing and design high-impact promotional programs.
• Data Analysis: leverage Nielsen/IRI data and internal metrics for data-driven decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with Supply Chain, Marketing, Store Ops, and Pricing teams for execution.
• Planogramming: collaborate on planograms to maximize sales per square foot.
