Job summary

Heart of Florida Health Center Inc in Ocala, FL is seeking a Center Nurse Manager to lead clinical operations, supervise the clinical support staff, and ensure high-quality patient care in a busy FQHC setting.

You will manage supplies, vaccines, and equipment, mentor staff, support physicians, and collaborate with leadership to meet regulatory standards while maintaining patient safety and service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Current RN licensure with at least 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience.
  • Experience in FQHC setting and physician practice preferred.
  • Skilled in providing primary care or at least 2 years of bedside hospital nursing experience.
  • Proficient in procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, urgent care handling, emergencies, exams, lab specimens, injections and related medications per orders.
  • Patient care instruction and telephone triage are expected.
  • Demonstrates visionary leadership, supervision, mature judgment, and strong communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to delegate, foster teamwork, and ensure accountability among staff.

Responsibilities

  • Must perform all essential functions of a registered nurse per Florida Board of Nursing.
  • Identify patient service needs by building rapport with patients and others who understand service requirements.
  • Maintain nursing guidelines by updating policies and communicating changes to the team.
  • Coordinate and enforce program, operational and personnel policies.
  • Support quality of care by aligning with standards and regulatory requirements; monitor health outcomes.
  • Recruit, retain, and train clinical support staff; supervise and mentor team.
  • Lead staff meetings, trainings, and maintain collaboration with leadership across units.
  • Ensure infection control, medication handling, vaccine storage, and HIPAA compliance.

Job Summary

TheCenterNurseManager is responsible for the delivery ofhigh-qualitypatient care by organizing, directing and planning theclinicaloperations of the clinicalsupportstaff within theHeart of Florida Health Centers.They ensure staff adherence to organizational policies and procedures and competence in the performance of clinical skills.Oversees supply, medication and vaccine inventory management and ensures all medical and clinicalequipmentis calibrated and operational.Creates a cohesive team that mentors, supports and communicates openly and holds each other accountableno matter what departmentcollaboratingwith.The Center Nurse Manager reports to andassiststhe Chief Nursing Officer with day-to-day clinical management.


Qualifications and Requirements


  • Current licensure as an RN with at least 3-5years ofnursing leadershipexperience


  • Experience in FQHC setting and physician practicepreferred.




  • Skilled in the provision of primary care or at least 2 years ofbedside nursinghospitalexperience




  • Skilled in procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, handling of urgent care,assistingwith emergencies, preparing patients for exams,assistingwith physical examinations, preparation of specimens for lab, administration of injections andother necessary drugsin adherence to providerswritten orders




  • Patient care instruction and telephone triage is expected




  • A person in this position must be a visionary with supervisory experience, mature judgment, good leadership, interprofessional, communication and computer skillsarea must




  • The ability to delegate responsibilities, create a climate of teamwork,and ensure accountability among those supervised




  • MustmaintaincurrentBLS certification from nationally recognized organizations that include hands-on skills verification. Online-only or non-recognized certifications are not accepted.




  • Mustdemonstrateexcellent internal and external customer service skills

Essential Functions


  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of aregisterednursein alignment with the Florida Board of Nursing




  • Identifiespatient service requirements byestablishingpersonal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements




  • Maintains nursing guidelines byassistingwith writing and updating policies and procedures and communicating changes to his/herassignedteam




  • Maintains nursing operations by initiating,coordinatingand enforcing program,operational and personnel policies and procedures




  • Assures quality of care byassistingin developing and interpreting philosophy and standards of care; enforcing adherence tostateboard of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments




  • Maintains nursing staff byassistingin recruiting, retention,selection, orienting, and training clinical support staff




  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines clinical support staff as needed.




  • Plans,monitorsand appraises job resultswhile also completes skills validations onmedical assistants, licensed practical nurses, phlebotomists, and clinical team leads




  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients,staffand families.




  • Responsible for ensuring that clinical support staffare able toperform the basic skills specific to their role andin accordance withtheir licensure and certification




  • Responsible for ensuring telephone triage, fax inbox monitoring, andemployee attendanceis executed according to policy and procedure




  • Collaborates withclinicaland operationalteam toassistwith calling patientsto reschedule appointmentswhen needed




  • Responsible for ensuring clinical support staffare able toreceive and relayaccurateinformation between patient and provider, provider to patient; able to communicate and documentaccurateinformationwith regard tomedications, referrals, patientinformationand scheduling




  • Responsible for evaluating patient flow and efficiency of the practice, as it pertains to the clinical support staff andmakeappropriate adjustmentsand recommendations. Center NurseManager will coordinate withCenterManagersandClinicalTeamLead




  • Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection control policies and protocols; enforcing medication administration regulations and vaccine storage and handling procedures




  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations bymonitoringconfidential information processing-maintaining strict adherence with all HIPAA regulations




  • Audits patient records for documentation of patient care




  • Achieves financialobjectivesas set annually andinitiatingcorrective actions




  • Maintains a cooperative collaborative relationship among clinical leadership team by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport andparticipatingin team problem solving methods




  • Ensurespatient safety goals are adhered to andassistscenter staff in preparation for all audits occurring on an annual basis




  • Assumesresponsibility for assignment and overview of all clinical support duties in addition to patient care, such as ordering of supplies, maintenance and QA of the lab, maintenance of regulatory permits whereappropriate, vaccination logs,AED logs, and Oxygen logs




  • Participates inand leadsstaff meetings, in-services,and management activities throughout the organization, including periodic attendance at morning huddles and PCMH meetings




  • Investigatesand resolves complaintsin areal-time environmentsuch as employee relations, customer service (i.e., patient concerns or complaints), incident reports, and facility requests




  • Collaborates/delegates to clinical team leads as appropriate




  • Places orders,monitorsinventoryfor vaccinations,monitorsvaccine expirations, vaccine compliancethrough the Florida Shotsonline system based on vaccination usage and inventory on hand




  • Leads preceptor program andassistswith creation of training/re-training materials




  • Oversees Licensed Practical Nurses and care plan logs/implementationsat covering locations




  • Completes any otherjob-relatedresponsibilitiesor duties assigned by the Chief Nursing Officer
