KOCO Child Care Center in East Hampton, CT, seeks a Director-in-training to work with the Executive Director before succession. The role covers financial, nonprofit, marketing, personnel, curriculum, and facilities oversight while preparing to assume the Executive Director role upon completion of the training period.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staff supervision, curriculum oversight, enrollment growth, and community relations, with a focus on maintaining high standards and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Completion of CT OEC-approved Director’s Course within 1 year of hire.
• Certifications in FA-CPR, medication administration, CT OEC Head Teacher within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fiscal responsibility: budgeting, payroll, taxes, bank reconciliations, and accounts.
• Prepare annual audit reports and communicate with auditors.
• Allocate resources while upholding Mission; attend monthly board meetings.
• Maintain KOCOmotions newsletter, website, and local advertising.
• Hire, onboard, train, manage, and evaluate staff; supervise junior administrators; schedule payroll.
• Oversee curriculum and classroom environments; observe classrooms and students.
• Support enrollment growth and clear communication of policies to families.
• Ensure health and safety standards; coordinate with external trades.
• Represent KOCO at community events and act as a resource for professionals.
