George Washington University is seeking a Center Assistant in the DC CFAR program based at Foggy Bottom campus. The role coordinates the Administrative Core and other cores, supporting meetings, events, and core services while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with publication requirements.
Responsibilities include assisting core leadership with budget tracking, coordinating pilot awards, and contributing to the annual report.
The DC CFAR is part of a national network of 20 CFARs supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The DC CFAR mission is to advance our multi-institutional research effort to contribute to ending the HIV epidemic and improving the health and quality of life of persons with HIV in Washington, DC and beyond in partnership with community and government. The DC CFAR's unique citywide model unites the complementary scientific efforts of nine partner institutions in Washington, DC - The George Washington University, Georgetown University, Howard University, American University, Children's National Hospital, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the DC Department of Health, Whitman-Walker and Us Helping Us.
The Center Assistant supports and coordinates activities of the Administrative Core A (10%), Developmental Core B (30%), Advance Technology Core C (20%), Clinical and Population Sciences Core D (20%) and Social and Behavioral Sciences Core E (20%) of the District of Columbia Center for AIDS Research (DC CFAR).
The Center Assistant acts as the centralized Core Manager and serves as the primary liaison among the Developmental, Advanced Technology, Clinical and Population Sciences, Social and Behavioral and the Administrative Core in supporting Core activities. This role is responsible for the overall coordination of activities across multiple Cores:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
