Job description

Under general supervision performs a variety of semi‑skilled and skilled duties necessary for the proper upkeep and maintenance of the cemeteries and grounds. Complete abatement of properties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Operate mowers and all other equipment needed for the proper performance of daily scheduled duties.
• Assist with duties such as planting and/or removal of trees and shrubs, laying sod, trimming trees, etc.
• Cut weeds, edge sidewalks and paths.
• Assist Code Enforcement with abatements of properties.
• Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively to unload orders or similar duties.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This job operates in a field position. Exposed to chemicals, uneven surfaces and extreme temperatures.

Physical Demands

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. Work hours vary by season.

Travel

Occasional, inside City limits travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent education or experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Must have or attain a chemical applicators license.

Preferred Education and Experience

• One or more years’ lawn experience.
