Job summary

S.E. Combined Services of Florida is seeking an entry-level groundskeeper for cemetery or funeral home locations in Washington. You will maintain grounds, operate equipment, and assist with interments while ensuring a respectful environment for families.

This role requires endurance for outdoor work, ability to handle physical tasks, and teamwork to support openings, closings and burials. Schedule Tue-Sat, 8:30am–5pm, with compensation DOE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience in landscaping, general construction, warehouse, physical labor showing steady employment. Funeral industry experience preferred.
• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment including shovel, rake, sledgehammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer and leaf blower.
• Ability to accurately use measuring devices (tape measure, yard-stick).
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Physically agile and dexterous.
• Ability to communicate effectively with associates, contractor personnel and client families.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs, tends flower beds and inspects assigned areas.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment including mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers.
• Removes debris and trash; may turn down vases and remove wilted flowers.
• Participates in openings/closings for interments, entombments and inurnments.
• Assists in determining grave locations; complies with procedures.
• May perform minor repairs to cemetery or equipment.
• May assist cremations and handling of vaults under supervision.
• Follow safety rules and OSHA guidelines.
