Job summary

Missouri Veterans Commission is seeking a part-time laborer to perform maintenance and grounds care at a Missouri Veterans Cemetery. You will help maintain cemetery grounds, buildings, and equipment, and operate heavy machinery such as zero-turn mowers, backhoe, snow blade, and front loader.

The role requires one year of related experience and Grade 8 completion, with physical work in varied weather and terrain. The position offers hourly pay with no benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in operation, maintenance, and safety practices of grounds tools and equipment
• Ability to lift, bend, reach, and climb ladders
• Ability to work in varying weather and rugged terrain

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and monitoring on equipment as directed
• Paint buildings and equipment
• Outdoor maintenance: mowing, trimming, trash pickup, landscaping
• Operate equipment including zero turn mowers and trimmers, backhoe, snow blade, front loader
• Landscape projects including flower beds, design and planting
• Sidewalk and roadway repair and sealing as needed
• Snow removal and limited concrete work
• Attend departmental meetings and training
