Responsibilities

• Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, and landscape upkeep using heavy equipment
• Clean and maintain cemetery buildings, roads, and equipment with safety as a priority
• Assist in burial processes by preparing gravesites and setting up tents/chairs with appropriate equipment
• Adhere to safety standards when operating heavy machinery and lifting heavy objects
• Provide courteous visitor assistance and address safety needs
• Report maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to supervisor promptly

Salary Range: $19.45-21.66 Per Hour

• An additional 5.09 per hr up to 40 hrs per week for H&W per w/d 2015-5417 Revision 30.
• This position is Service Contract Act which is subject to Health & Welfare benefits

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Cemetery Grounds Maintenance worker with experience in handling heavy equipment such as Skid Loaders and Excavators. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cemetery grounds with a strong safety mindset, the ability to lift 75 lbs frequently, and expertise in operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, and maintaining landscape features using heavy equipment like Skid Loaders and Excavators.
• Clean and upkeep cemetery buildings, roads, and equipment while ensuring safety is a top priority.
• Assist in the burial process by preparing gravesites, setting up tents and chairs, and utilizing heavy equipment where necessary.
• Adhere strictly to safety standards and regulations, particularly when operating heavy equipment and lifting items up to 75 lbs frequently.
• Provide professional and courteous assistance to visitors, focusing on safety while meeting their needs.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or equipment malfunctions promptly to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, particularly involving the operation of heavy equipment like Skid Loaders and Excavators.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining heavy equipment and landscaping tools.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a safety-oriented mindset.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs frequently, with the physical capability to operate heavy equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, maintaining a focus on safety at all times.
