Job summary

Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) seeks a dedicated Horticultural Attendant for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA. The role centers on grounds maintenance, interment support, and preserving a dignified landscape for veterans and their families.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of groundskeeping experience or related training and/or six semester hours in plant sciences.

Qualifications

• One year of groundskeeping experience or training in farming, care and maintenance of trees and shrubs.
• Six semester hours in a plant science or landscape field.

Responsibilities

• Assist cemetery staff with day-to-day grounds maintenance activities.
• Support cemetery grounds operations with routine turf care, planting, pruning, and pest management.
• Act as a liaison between horticulturist attendants and managers or contract workers for specialized issues.
• Provide scheduling support for seasonal maintenance and monitor supply needs.
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
