Job summary

The Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services of the Diocese of Sacramento seeks a Cemetery Grounds Manager for St. Mary Cemetery and Funeral Center.

This role plans, organizes, coordinates and manages landscape and grounds across assigned cemeteries, working to support harmonious interaction between sales and cemetery staff and build strong relationships with parishes and the local community. Qualifications

3+ years cemetery/landscape/grounds maintenance experience.
2+ years supervisory experience.
Valid California Driver's License required.
California Pesticide Applicators License preferred.
Catholic in good standing required.

Responsibilities

Deliver Catholic Funeral Rites of a Vigil, Funeral Mass and Committal Ceremony.
Lead Cemetery Grounds staff with a front-facing, hands-on approach.
Monitor and manage grounds/facility maintenance budgets for quality and efficiency.
Maintain cemetery inventory and recommend improved inventory opportunities.
Recruit, train, evaluate, and mentor Cemetery Grounds staff.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory entities.
Set and uphold high standards of care for grounds and facilities.
Provide exceptional customer service to families and the public.
Review contracts, invoices and other documents for accuracy.
Support strategic plans, policies, and procedures to achieve goals.
Oversee capital maintenance and development projects as needed.
