NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Cemetery Caretaker in Houston, TX, to maintain cemetery grounds, assist with interments, and ensure a respectful, clean environment at our facilities.

The role requires outdoor work in varying weather, ability to lift up to 100 lb, and experience with hand tools. It involves physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and walking, with responsibilities spanning grounds upkeep and care of chapels and memorials.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with or without assistance.
• Minimum 6 months of experience using hand tools in a professional setting.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Cuts grass.
• Maintains lawn and trims around trees, walkways, and memorial markers.
• Lays sod.
• Moves and removes flowers to and from the chapel and graveside.
• Blows leaves and grass.
• Edges with a stick edger.
• Clears debris and maintains drives and walkways in a safe condition.
• Cleans ponds and fountains.
• Hand digs/trenching.
• Maintains overall appearance and cleanliness of funeral homes and/or mausoleum facilities.
• Cleans and maintains the facility, performs minor repairs, painting, etc.
• Assists in loading and unloading caskets.
• Vehicle and golf cart washing/cleaning.
