Job summary

Sci Corp in Wichita, KS seeks an entry-level Groundskeeper to maintain cemetery grounds and assist with interments and related duties. The role covers mowing, snow removal, landscaping, and basic repairs across cemetery and funeral home locations.

You'll work outdoors in varying weather, operate hand-held tools, and support team efforts in grave layout and layout verification. Prior landscaping or funeral industry exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months relevant landscaping or physical labor experience.
• Funeral industry experience preferred.
• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment (shovel, rake, mower, leaf blower).
• Ability to communicate effectively with associates and client families.
• Basic computer skills for emails.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs; inspects work areas.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment (mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers).
• Removes debris and trash from grounds; handles wilted flowers.
• Assists in openings/closings for interments, entombments and inurnments.
• Assists in locating graves with supervision; follows verification procedures.
• May perform minor repairs to cemetery or equipment; may assist in cremations under supervision.
• Follows safety rules and regulations (OSHA, environmental).
• Not an all-inclusive list of duties.
