Cement Pump Truck Operator

Position: Pump Truck Operator

Department: Operations

Status: Hourly (Nonexempt)/At-Will

Location: Fairmont, WV and local job site locations

Purpose: Support construction activities by implementation of the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Driving and operating pump truck safely and efficiently. Tends one or more machines that pump concrete/grout.
• Operating pumps using controls such as levers, pedals and buttons.
• Observing equipment gauges, indicators and hand signals to monitor job activities and conditions.
• Connecting multiple hoses together and positioning hoses for concrete material flow.
• Cleaning and maintaining the truck to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Shoveling materials as required.
• Performing minor maintenance to the pump and hoses.
• Following safe operating procedures according to specifications of jobs and equipment.
• Repairing, maintaining, cleaning and adjusting equipment using hand tools.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• 3 or more years of relevant experience in the field.
• Class B CDL License minimum.

Skills:

• Knowledge of heavy, diesel-powered truck operations including federal, state and local regulations.
• Knowledge of use, repair and maintenance of triplex, high-pressure pump and equipment.
• Knowledge of principles, techniques, procedures and equipment related to work activities.

Physical Requirements:

• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs.
• Moving heavy objects (94 pounds or more) short distances (20 feet or less).
• Heavy lifting with stooping, carrying and bending.
• Working in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must have vision equal to or better than required for driving.
• Must be able to hear adequately enough to be alerted by safety warnings.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• Must be able to work at heights of up to 100’ or more.
• Must be able to work in confined or enclosed spaces.
• Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Licenses or Certifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License - Class B minimum.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Travel:

• Travel is required.
