Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee, plan, and coordinate employee activities for safe material production in the cement plant. You will work under limited supervision to ensure operations meet quality and safety standards, directing flows to silos and coordinating with maintenance for problem resolution.

The role requires at least 2 years of supervision experience, knowledge of cement production, safety practices, and MSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of supervision experience.
• Thorough knowledge of cement production, safe work practices, and MSHA regulations.
• Excellent computer and organizational skills; willing to effectively learn Windows, Excel and other software.
• Ability to formulate decisions, prioritize work, and communicate with multiple parties.
• Ability to be cleared with federal ATF to transport, ship, receive or possess explosive materials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, plan, organize, and coordinate employee activities for safe production of material in the cement plant.
• Ensure safe work procedures and conditions; promote safety and accident prevention.
• Diagnose malfunctions and coordinate with Maintenance to correct problems.
• Direct and supervise deliveries of all bulk materials; ensure proper silo storage.
• Record shift events and report major malfunctions to Production Superintendent.
• Enforce company work rules; set quality/quantity standards and manage disciplinary actions.
• Foster positive relationships with management and staff; motivate and coach team members.
