Granite Construction in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Cement Mason to safely smooth, level, and finish poured concrete to spec using hand and power tools. You will set forms, operate finishing equipment, and patch surfaces under varying weather and shift schedules.

Applicants should have 1-2 years of concrete finishing experience; curb machine experience is a plus. You must wear a full-body harness when working at heights and be able to work day, swing, and night shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of concrete finishing experience.
• Experience with concrete curb machine is preferred.
• Ability to wear a full body harness and work at heights while tied off.
• Ability to work day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours).
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work in safety-sensitive construction setting with moving machinery.

Responsabilités

• Pour, spread, tamp, level shape, smooth and finish concrete to meet horizontal tolerances and finish specs from hard trowel to heavy broom.
• Operate machinery including cement edging, troweling, finishing equipment, bull float, broom, and trowel machines.
• Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
• Patch horizontal and vertical concrete.
• Construct and assemble concrete forms and wooden frame structures for various concrete formations.
• May assist subgrade work, mixing of concrete or other aggregate mixtures.
• May break up and repair old concrete surfaces.
• Other duties as required.

The Cement Mason is responsible for safely smoothing out, leveling, and finishing surfaces of poured concrete to specified quality and textures with the use of hand and/or power tools.

• Pour, spread, tamp, level shape, smooth and finish concrete to meet horizontal tolerances and finish specs from hard trowel to heavy broom.
• Operate various machinery and equipment including but not limited to cement edging, troweling, and finishing equipment, bull float, broom, and trowel machines.

Work Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to wear a full body harness and work at heights while tied off.

• Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work in safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Ability to squat, crawl, and work in awkward positions/confined spaces.

Physical Demands

• Physical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with ability to: grasp, assemble, and lift objects, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders onto equipment or other objects, and potentially lie down.
• Lifting, pushing, pulling of heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. or more.
