Job summary

The City of Chicago's Department of Transportation invites applications for the Cement Finisher Apprentice program. Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma OR GED certificate.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• Successful candidates must pass a drug screen, background investigation, physical, and required pre-employment exams.
• A valid State of Illinois driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cement finishing tasks under supervision.
• Learn to read drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Prepare sub-grade surfaces and formwork for concrete.
• Place reinforcement materials as required.
• Finish concrete using tools to meet specifications.
• Maintain safety and quality during on-the-job training.
