Job summary

Molecular Devices, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Field Applications Scientist to provide pre-sales and post-sales support for automated cell culture and complex biology platforms. You will demonstrate, train customers, and troubleshoot, driving adoption of advanced biology workflows.

The role reports to the North America Sales and Applications Manager and covers the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region remotely.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with laboratory automation.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with long term cell culture (including iPSCs).
• Experience with 3D biology (organoids, spheroids, tumoroids) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales application support for automated cell culture platforms.
• Deliver live demonstrations and customer trainings; troubleshoot platforms.
• Collaborate with North America Sales and Applications Manager to cover Northeast and Mid-Atlantic remotely.
• Travel up to 75% as required, home-based, based in the PA/OH/Mid-Atlantic region.

The Cellular Workflow Automation Field Applications Scientist is responsible for providing pre-sales and post-sales application support for our automated cell culture and complex biology platforms, including live demonstrations, customer trainings, and troubleshooting.

This position reports to the North America Sales and Applications Manager for Cellular Workflow Automation and Field Applications Scientist team working remotely to cover the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. Applicants need to be based in Pennsylvania, Ohio or the Mid-Atlantic.

The successful candidate will possess:

The essential requirements of the job include:

• An advanced degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent discipline.
• 2 or more years’ hands-on experience with laboratory automation, including automated liquid handlers required
• 2 or more years’ hands-on experience with long term cell culture, including iPSCs
• Experience with 3D biology, including organoids, spheroids, tumoroids preferred

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Must have the ability to travel overnight up to 75%, this position will be home office based and the candidate must be located in the Greater Boston area.
• Must be able to lift ~30lbs on a regular basis
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Automation scheduling software and image analysis
• Customer-facing experience (FAS or technical support)

The salary for this role ranges from $105,000 to $115,000, which includes incentive and bonus pay.
