Job summary

Music Love Academy in Fairfax City, VA, is seeking a passionate Cello Teacher for a part-time, on-site role. You will provide engaging private cello lessons and may lead group classes, tailoring lessons to each student’s age, ability, and goals.

The ideal candidate has strong cello technique, teaching experience with diverse learners, and excellent communication. A bachelor’s degree in music is preferred, with a willingness to participate in recitals and academy events.

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
• Experience teaching private music lessons to children and adults.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to different ages, abilities, and learning styles.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, enthusiastic, and supportive approach to music education.
• Experience with neurodivergent students is a plus.
• Additional proficiency in piano or another instrument is advantageous.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Cello Teacher to join our growing faculty.

This is a part-time, on-site position at Music Love Academy in Fairfax City. The ideal candidate is not only an accomplished musician but also an inspiring educator who enjoys working with students of different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.

• Strong proficiency in cello performance, technique, and music theory.
• Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
• Previous experience teaching private music lessons to children and adults.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to different ages, abilities, and learning styles.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, enthusiastic, and supportive approach to music education.
• Experience working with neurodivergent students or students with diverse learning needs is a plus.
• Additional proficiency in piano or another instrument is an advantage.
• Willingness to participate in faculty recitals, student performances, and academy events.
