Ji‑Eun Lee Music Academy in Fishers, IN seeks a passionate Cello Teacher to join our team. The candidate will provide one‑on‑one and group cello lessons, develop personalized plans, teach cello technique and music theory, and prepare students for recitals and exams.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Music or related field, proven cello teaching experience, strong performance ability, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or related field.
• Proven experience teaching cello to students of various ages and skill levels.
• Strong proficiency in cello performance and solid understanding of music theory.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Patience, creativity, and passion for teaching music.
• Availability to teach at least 8 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Core teaching hours: 4pm to 8pm on two evenings per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group cello lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
• Develop customized lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and goals of each student.
• Teach proper cello techniques, music theory, and performance skills.
• Prepare students for recitals, competitions, and examinations as needed.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
• Communicate regularly with students and their families regarding progress and any concerns.
• Stay current with teaching methods, repertoire, and trends in music education.
• Participate in school events, recitals, and community outreach programs as required.
• Determine student goals and objectives, and discuss lesson details with them.
• Structure individual lessons based on client preferences and goals.
• Provide students with appropriate materials and resources.
• Show up on time for scheduled practice sessions, recitals, competitions, and other events.
• Teach music theory, helping students sharpen sight-reading, memorization, improvisation, or other student-defined goals.
