Job summary

R&D Partners is seeking a Process Engineer II in Santa Monica, CA to advance cell therapy process development on automated platforms. You will design studies, perform hands-on lab work in an ISO 5 cell culture environment, and analyze data to improve processes and equipment.

Ideal candidates have relevant degrees with pharma/biotech process development experience and hands-on expertise in bioreactors and DOE methods.

Qualifications

MS Degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related with 2+ years of experience OR BS with 4+ years OR AS with 5+ years OR High School with 6+ years experience in pharma/biotech manufacturing & process development.
Working experience on automated cell therapy platforms.
Established cell culture techniques and aseptic processing in ISO 5 environments (cell passaging, sampling, fluid handling, media formulation, reagents, cryopreservation).
Practical knowledge of cGMP manufacturing and regulatory requirements for pharmaceuticals and devices.
Hands-on process development including use of bioreactors and DOE is required.

Responsibilities

Conduct cell therapy process development experiments using automated platforms.
Design and execute laboratory studies to evaluate, develop and implement new technologies and materials.
Perform hands-on lab activities in a cell culture lab and analyze data.
Perform process or equipment analysis and trend performance.
Develop manufacturing equipment for cell therapy products including hardware, software, and single-use disposables.
