Job summary

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Water Spider to support and maintain machinery on production lines. You will help maintain CNC machines and retrieve parts for the line, contributing to a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work overtime or on Saturdays when required. Training is provided to develop skills in lean manufacturing and daily Kaizen practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old and able to pass a background and drug screen.
• Previous machine operator or high volume, medium mix manufacturing experience preferred.
• We provide on-the-job training for motivated candidates.

Responsibilities

• Check coolant levels and percentages, remove metal chips from machines, and maintain daily parts inventory.
• Assist with quarterly inventory and perform other duties as necessary.

Position Summary

The Water Spider is an entry level position that supports and maintains machinery on our production lines. The right candidate is responsible for maintaining CNC machines and retrieving parts for the line.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include checking coolant levels and percentages, removing metal chips from machines, and maintaining daily parts inventory.
• The Water Spider also assists with quarterly inventory and performs other duties as necessary.
• Visual alertness, hand dexterity and attention to detail are necessary.
• The ideal candidate must be flexible and adaptable to change in assignments, and be willing to work overtime and an occasional Saturday, if required.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous machine operator or high volume, medium mix manufacturing environment experience.
• High School Diploma, preferred, but is not required.

Physical Demands:

• Associates are frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position can involve sitting, walking and lifting up to 40 pounds several times throughout the day. Job is performed standing all day. Job requires substantial movement/motion with regard to walking, bending, lifting, grasping and applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palms.

Requirements:
