HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Cell Processing Laboratory Technician at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

The CPL Technician processes, prepares, and cryopreserves cellular therapy products to support hematopoietic patient care and undergoes verification of results. The role requires a 1-year background in cell processing or a general lab, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and preferred CLS/MT certification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a cell processing laboratory or a general laboratory setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology is required.
• Certification as a CLS/MT (ASCP or AMT) is preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients and vendors.
• Good computer skills.

• Perform and document tasks for processing, preparation and cryopreservation of cellular therapy products.
• Support patient care related to the infusion of cellular therapy products.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cell Processing Laboratory (CPL) Technician is responsible for performing and documenting all tasks and duties associated with the processing/preparation and cryopreservation of cellular therapy products used to provide hematopoietic support to patients undergoing high dose chemotherapy. S/he provides appropriate patient care or support related to the infusion of cellular therapy products. The CPL Technician demonstrates an ability to independently, operate laboratory equipment, make subtle discriminations and accurately interpret, record and verify cellular therapy product results.

II. Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience (1 year) in a cell processing laboratory or a general laboratory setting.

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology. Required.

• Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (ASCP or AMT) certification, preferred

• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all staff, patients, patient families and vendors.

• Good computer skills.
