Job summary

Elite Investigations is seeking event security staff for temporary seasonal opportunities in New York. The role focuses on keeping attendees, staff, and property safe during events with strict access protocols and rapid response to incidents.

Applicants should possess a NYS Security Guard License, and Fireguard certification is preferred. Weekend availability is required; the position is temporary/seasonal with multiple openings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access at entrances; enforce event access protocols.

• Direct traffic and guide pedestrians; assist attendees with directions.

Job Skills / Requirements

The Event Security Staff plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the attendees, staff, and property during events.

They are responsible for maintaining order and acting swiftly in the event of any disturbances or potential threats.

Their duties and responsibilities include:

• Monitor and control access at entrances. Ensure all guests comply with venue rules and event access protocols .
• Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment
• Perform security patrols of designated areas
• Identify and respond to security risks or threats promptly and effectively
• Manage crowd control and maintain order during the event
• Direct traffic and guide pedestrians
• Assist event attendees with directions or information
• Report any suspicious activities or security breaches
• Respond to emergencies as trained and follow the chain of command .
• Maintain open communication via radio or phone with security team and supervisor.
• Cooperate with law enforcement authorities when necessary
• Ensure compliance with applicable procedures, laws, and regulations
• Maintain a detailed record of any incidents that occur during the event
• Fireguard Required (F03 and/or F04) ***MUST HAVE HARDCOPY ON PERSON***

Qualifications:

• NYS Security Guard License
• Fireguard Preferred (F03 and/or F04)
• Availability to work weekends
• High school diploma or equivalent (some events may require security certification).
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or crowd management preferred.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Physically fit to stand, walk, and respond to emergencies for extended periods.

Compensation: Compensation for this role is determined by position title. The pay rates are fixed and not subject to negotiation.

Benefits: Benefits such as vacation, medical, dental and vision apply to full-time positions only. This is a temporary position.
