Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced CEI Project Administrator/Project Engineer to join our Construction Management team in Orlando, FL.

You will manage duties such as progress estimates, field staff oversight, shop drawing reviews, and coordination of progress meetings, while pursuing new projects. Minimum requirements include English communication, a high school diploma, and CEI experience; a Florida PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Eight (8) years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction for non-engineering personnel.
• FL licensure as a Professional Engineer preferred or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months after hire.
• For degree holders, two (2) years CEI or engineering experience in relevant transportation projects; master's may substitute for one year.

Responsibilities

• Receive general instructions and exercise independent judgment to solve problems.
• Direct and assign tasks to administrative and field staff and assist in all phases of the construction project.
• Prepare progress and final estimates over the project duration.
• Oversee field staff on CEI projects.
• Assist in materials sampling and testing tracking.
• Review/approve daily work reports and assist in preparing monthly pay estimates.
• Assist in shop drawing and plans reviews.
• Support pursuit of new projects and coordinate progress meetings.

Your Impact

Job Duties:

• Receiving general instructions regarding assignments and exercising initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.
• Directing and assigning specific tasks to administrative and field staff and assisting in all phases of the construction project.
• Progress estimates and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.
• Oversight of field staff on CEI projects
• Assist in materials sampling and testing tracking in MAC
• Daily work reports review/approval in PRC
• Assisting in generating monthly pay estimate
• Assisting in shop drawing and plans reviews
• Assisting in pursuit of projects
• Coordinate and hold project progress meetings

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbally and in writing)
• High school diploma or equivalent

For personnel without Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management degrees:

• Eight (8) years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction.

Preferred Requirements:

• Professional Engineer registered in the State of Florida or ability to obtain licensure with 6 months

For personnel with Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management degrees:

• Two (2) years of CEI or engineering experience in relevant transportation projects.
• A master's degree may be substituted for one (1) year of CEI or engineering experience.

Qualification/Certifications

For this position, qualifications/certifications, may be obtained within six (6) months from the date of hire provided that this position works under supervision and direction of a Senior Project Engineer, all other requirements for the position are met, and a training plan is submitted detailing when the qualifications/certifications will be obtained.
