Job Summary

JMT is seeking an Inspector’s Aide for its Florida Construction Management division. The Inspector’s Aide will conduct on‑site inspections of work in progress and support the Senior Inspector and Inspector in their duties. The successful candidate will receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector, who reviews work while in progress.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
• Gather and maintain record documents.
• Make field notes and computations.

Nonessential Functions And Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Perform mathematical calculations, follow technical instruction, and read plans and specifications.
• Assist and, if needed, elevate issues to higher‑level Inspectors.
• Pass JMT’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Required Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• FDOT/Turnpike/CFX experience required.
• Obtain FDOT Intermediate MOT Certification prior to field work and additional certifications prior to performing independent testing.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. The role requires extensive bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
