Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a CEI Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspection for roadway, bridge, and transportation projects.

You will verify materials, workmanship, and contract compliance while maintaining project records and supporting project engineers throughout construction. The role requires 18 months to 3 years of transportation inspection experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 18 months to 3 years of transportation inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, transportation, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of highway construction materials, methods, equipment, and inspection procedures.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• GDOT trainings or ability to obtain listed certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall construction quality.
• Inspect structural components and operations including foundations, excavation, piling, reinforcing steel, structural steel, concrete placement, culverts, and backfill operations.
• Monitor and inspect traffic control devices and erosion and sediment control measures.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations for pay quantities and maintain accurate contract documentation and project records.
• Prepare reports, maintain inspection records, and document project activities and findings.
• Supervise or provide directions to inspectors performing routine inspection activities, as assigned.
