Job summary

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring a CEI Inspector to join our team in East Tennessee. The CEI Inspector will perform routine inspections on highway and bridge projects, supporting construction management, testing, and monitoring to ensure compliance with contract documents.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in roadway/structures construction, ability to interpret contracts and plans, and proven leadership to supervise entry-level

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) + years of progressive experience in roadway and structures construction.
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications.
  • Ability to train, coordinate, and supervise entry level inspection technicians in the field.
  • Travel to job sites is expected, clean driving record.

As a CEI Inspector with RK&K you will strengthen our Construction Engineering and Inspection team while performing routine inspections on projects including highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, and climb ladders or stairs. Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and may include exposure to construction-related hazards.
