The CEHE Analyst will perform critical data analysis and program review for the Center for Equitable Higher Education (CEHE) program across multiple CSU's.


Key Responsibilities


  • Data Analysis - Conduct statistical analyses of quantitative data from multiple sources to assess basic need insecurity patterns across CSU Campuses. Geocode data if available to explore contextual variables.

  • Data Synthesis & Evaluation - Review and compare data sources for potential integration, with reliability, consistency, and representativeness.

  • Campus Program Review - Evaluate initiatives and services CSU campuses have implemented to address student basic need insecurity, identifying common strategies and gaps.

  • Writing and Interpretation - Contribute to the drafting of reports, briefs, and manuscripts by interpreting findings and framing implications for policy and practice.

  • Team Collaboration - Participate in regular meetings to discuss data collection, methodological considerations, and project coordination with team members.

This is a temporary hourly/intermittent position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.



  • Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $27.69 (Step 1) - $29.97 (Step 5) per hour commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

  • CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $27.69 (Step 1) to $40.34 (Step 20) per hour.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to perform and interpret statistical analyses and effectively utilize statistical software to support data-driven decision-making. They are a self‑motivated professional who can work independently with minimal supervision while also demonstrating proven success in collaborative environments, contributing positively to team initiatives, sharing knowledge, and working effectively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals.


Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non‑discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a “vision of excellence.”


Education and Experience


  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.


Physical Summary

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects (10 pounds or less).

CSULB is not a sponsoring agency for staff and management positions (i.e. H‑1B Visas).
