Job summary

Biltmore in Asheville, NC is seeking an enthusiastic Host/Hostess to warmly greet guests, escort them to tables, and support seating flow across restaurant sections.

Ideal candidates have customer service experience, strong communication, and basic cash handling; OpenTable experience is helpful. This role requires flexible shifts, physical adaptability, and a team‑oriented approach to uphold Biltmore's standards of service.

Job description

Starting pay range: $16.32/hour based on qualifications and experience.

Shift Schedule

Typical shifts vary between 10:00am and 10:00pm. Weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

Hosts will courteously greet and escort guests to tables, assist in seating, ensure Biltmore standards of service, maintain flow of seating by section, prepare the restaurant for service, maintain cleanliness, answer telephone, take reservations, assist in monitoring guests' needs and all phases of operation, provide general assistance and support for department, leadership, and company.

Requirements

Previous customer/guest service experience strongly preferred. Ideal candidate: previous food and beverage experience in a full‑service restaurant, preferably upscale. Excellent verbal and written communication. Demonstrated commitment to world‑class guest service and teamwork. Ability to think clearly in fast‑paced environment, exercise good judgment under pressure. Familiarity with reservations software; OpenTable experience helpful. Basic math skills, cash and credit handling. Proactive, initiative, professional image.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally. Endure stoop, kneel, bend, reach overhead, etc. Remain ambulatory or stationary. Exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals.

Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with variable temperature and noise levels.
