Job summary

Alamo Colleges District seeks a part-time CE Instructor (CISSP Certified) to teach Continuing Education classes at the DIS - Workforce Center of Excellence. The position is revenue-funded and not eligible for benefits, with up to 19 hours per week, and hours may include evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate will hold current CISSP certification and ISC2 instructor authorization, with strong cybersecurity expertise and experience delivering training to adult learners.

Qualifications

• Five years of work experience in CISSP.
• Current ISC2 instructor authorization or ability to satisfy ISC2 instructor authorization requirements prior to delivery.
• Demonstrated professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, information technology, or a closely related field.
• Strong working knowledge of the CISSP Common Body of Knowledge and its application within enterprise environments.
• Ability to effectively facilitate technical and managerial cybersecurity instruction for adult learners and working professionals.
• Strong verbal communication, presentation, classroom facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deliver the official ISC2 curriculum while providing appropriate real-world context and examples without compromising required course content.

Job Summary and Description

Position responsible for teaching Continuing Education classes. Continuing Education Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity contingent upon the needs of the department. Classes are offered during daytime, evenings, and weekends as well as some College holidays. Classes are offered at various times and locations during the academic year.

• Five (5) years of work experience in CISSP.
• Current ISC2 instructor authorization/certification required to deliver official ISC2 CISSP training, or ability to satisfy ISC2 instructor authorization requirements prior to independently delivering an official course.
• Demonstrated professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, information technology, or a closely related field.
• Strong working knowledge of the CISSP Common Body of Knowledge and its application within enterprise environments.
• Ability to effectively facilitate technical and managerial cybersecurity instruction for adult learners and working professionals.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associate's degree in related training discipline.
• Five (5) years of directly related experience in CISSP.
• Experience delivering CISSP certification preparation or official ISC2 training.
• Technical training, college instruction, corporate training, or professional-development facilitation experience.
• Experience in cybersecurity leadership, security architecture, risk management, governance and compliance, security operations, network security, cloud security, or related disciplines.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CCSP, CISM, CISA, SecurityX/CASP+, Security+, CEH, GIAC, Cisco, Microsoft, or AWS security certifications.
• Experience teaching both in-person and live virtual courses.

Licenses and Certifications
