Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a CDU Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care on a 12-bed short-stay CDU. The nurse collaborates with providers for observation patients and advocates for a superior patient experience.

The CDU unit bridges ER and inpatient services, with a team including RNs and techs. Part-time night shifts are available, offering pro‑ ritmo opportunities in a leading Kansas City health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing school; ADN or BSN required.
• Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state or with an active compact license.
• ACLS to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• BLS required for all hires.
• 1 year of acute nursing (ED, ICU, PCU) experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in cardiac and medical-surgical care.
