This Correctional Support Trades Supervisor I (CSTS I) is a Laundry Supervisor at the Sterling Correctional Facility, a Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) prison facility, located in Sterling, CO. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring the safety and security of the general public, staff and inmates; training and overseeing inmate work crew in laundry operations and ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant completion of assigned tasks. This position promotes the CDOC Mission and Vision with integrity and commitment.A minimum of two (2) years of employmentexperience as described above may be combined with correctional experience (If you are using correctional experience, be sure to include details in the 'Work Experience' section of the application).
Correctional Experience- must be security related duties where primary responsibilities included detaining, controlling movement and escorting inmates in a prison facility; conducting counts and searches while monitoring inmate assignments and movement throughout the day.
Substitution:Formal education that resulted in demonstrated competencies equivalent to the competencies learned through the required experience (such as a degree in hotel or hospitality) may be substituted for the relevant experience. Demonstrate body agility, strength of all four limbs and the ability to walk and climb stairs consistently.

Work in an environment with fluctuating noise and temperature (hot and cold) which may include working outdoors in inclement weather and/or concrete floor/wall work settings.
Willing and able to travel.
Willing and able to work various shifts, days, afternoons, graveyards (nights) which includes a rotating shift schedule.
TB (tuberculosis) screening is required of all new employees upon hire.
Successful completion of a background investigation is required. Should applicant’s background reveal criminal charges, it shall be the responsibility of the applicant to provide the Department of Corrections with written/official disposition of any charges.
