Job summary

Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation seeks a Charge Description Master Technician (CDMT) to maintain the hospital and ambulatory clinic chargemaster, ensuring accurate charges and compliance with pricing regulations. You will collaborate with service area leaders, providers, and the Coding Supervisor to ensure correct service codes and pricing.

The role requires strong math skills, knowledge of coding/billing standards (ICD-9/10, CPT/HCPCS), and experience in healthcare patient accounting

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum two-year experience in financial or clinical service areas.
• Minimum one-year experience as patient access specialist, client service technician, medical billing, accounts receivable technician, or medical coder; RN/LPN may substitute.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS coding/billing procedures, UB-04/HCFA-1500 forms.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and verifies charge selection accuracy as performed by clinical service areas.
• Keeps abreast of coding and reimbursement changes to optimize reimbursement and reduce denials.
• Analyzes charges in the CDM for appropriate coding and pricing.
• Develops and implements training for CDM updates and changes.
• Maintains regulatory changes tracking and compliance records.
• Prepares and analyzes reports related to denials and underpayments; resolves CDM/billing issues.
