Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver to cover routes within a 250-mile radius of Lancaster, MA. The role offers daily home time, predictable weekday schedules, detention pay, and Hazmat pay opportunities on a local intermodal account.

Earn an estimated $84,000–$95,000 per year with a $10,000 signing bonus, plus a $20/hour detention pay after the first hour and $40 per Hazmat load. Shifts are typically 2:00 PM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable truck driving experience.
• Clean driving record required.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• No SAP drivers accepted.
• Ability to work a flexible shift when needed.
• Rail-yard experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Local intermodal routes within a 250-mile radius of Lancaster, MA.
• Operate containers in and out of the rail ramp (Ayer/Lancaster area).
• Freight originates or terminates in Worcester or Ayer, MA.
• Uniforms provided; shifts 2:00 PM–5:00 PM; typical 10–12 hour days.

Earn approximately $84,000–$95,000 per year on a local intermodal account serving customers within a 250-mile radius of Lancaster, Massachusetts. Enjoy daily home time, consistent weekday scheduling, paid detention, and additional Hazmat pay.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,650–$1,850
• $10,000 Bonus
• $20/hour detention pay after 1 hour at the rail
• $40 per Hazmat load

Job Details

• Local intermodal container routes within a 250-mile radius
• Operate containers in and out of the Ayer ramp, north of Worcester
• Freight originates or terminates in Worcester or Ayer, Massachusetts
• Drivers will not operate in New York City
• 24/7 operation with shared equipment
• Some rail-yard experience preferred
• Uniforms required
• No riders allowed

Shift Details

• Monday–Friday
• Start times between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM
• Typical workday: 10–12 hours
• Shift availability will be discussed during the welcome call
• Drivers may occasionally be asked to work another shift
• Thanksgiving: Could work
• Christmas: Off
• New Year's: Could work
