Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Grocery Driver to deliver fresh and frozen groceries to supermarkets and distribution centers across the Northeast. The role offers a $10,000 bonus and home daily shifts with daytime start times.

Expected annual pay is around $95,000 with approximately 1,381 miles per week and ~31 stops per week. hotel accommodations are provided for layovers, and uniforms are supplied.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience
• DOT Medical Card
• Clean driving record
• No SAP drivers
• Ability to unload frozen products using a pallet jack and liftgate
• Strong customer service skills
• Reliable personal transportation to and from work
• At least 3 months of NYC delivery experience in all five boroughs preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 46-, 48-, 51-, and 53-foot reefer trailers.
• Cover delivery areas including NYC boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey, and Boston.
• Complete approximately 31 stops per week with one long load daily plus shorter loads when hours permit.
• Pick up return product and occasional backhauls to the distribution center.
• Driver unloads 1-3 pallets per stop using pallet jack and liftgate.
• Occasional layovers with hotel accommodations provided.

Earn $95,000 per year delivering fresh and frozen groceries to supermarkets and distribution centers across the Northeast. This dedicated position offers a $10,000 bonus, daytime start times, and occasional hotel-paid layovers.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,850.
• Bonus: $10,000.
• Miles/Week: Approximately 1,381.

Job Details

• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 46-, 48-, 51-, and 53-foot reefer trailers.
• Delivery areas include New York City boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey, and Boston.
• Average of approximately 31 stops per week.
• Usually complete one long load per day, with an additional shorter load when hours permit.
• Pick up return product and occasional backhauls to the distribution center.
• Driver unloads 1-3 pallets per stop using a manual pallet jack and liftgate.
• Piece-by-piece hand unloading may be required.
• Most NYC deliveries are curbside; New Jersey deliveries are generally dock deliveries, while Long Island may be either.
• Support other local accounts as needed.
• Occasional layovers may occur; hotel accommodations are provided.

Shift Details

• Start times between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM
• Split days off: Sunday and one weekday
• Weekday off will not be Monday or Saturday
• Approximately 12-14-hour shifts
• Thanksgiving and Christmas off
• New Year's Day work is not guaranteed
