Job summary

The Scruggs Company is hiring CDL drivers to join our construction team in Georgia. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, loading and transporting materials to job sites, and ensuring safety and compliance with DOT and company policies.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of verifiable experience, a valid Georgia CDL Class A or B (hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred), a current medical card, and are able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of verifiable work experience preferred.
• Valid Georgia CDL Class A or B license; tanker and/or hazmat endorsements preferred.
• Current medical card required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections.
• Report problems or malfunctions.
• Drive to asphalt plant or sand plant to pick up materials for delivery to job site or customer.
• Load and transport materials to the destination safely and efficiently.
• Comply with all company, DOT, Federal, State and local safety regulations.
• Complete trip tickets and DOT logs; keep receipts and turn in timely.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed.
• May assist crew as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Will perform pre-trip inspection
• Report any problems or malfunctions
• Will drive to asphalt plant or sand plant to pick up materials to be delivered to the job site or customer
• Must be able to load and transport material to the assigned destination in a safe and efficient manner
• Comply with all company, DOT, Federal, State and local safety regulations
• Will complete a trip ticket for each move, keep receipt of materials hauled, and turn in tickets promptly
• Complete DOT log book via EDL and all other required paperwork and turn in as required
• Able to perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed
• May assist crew as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' verifiable work experience preferred
• Must have a valid Georgia CDL Driver's license - Class A or B (tanker and/or hazmat endorsement preferred)
• Must be familiar with FMC
• Must have a current medical card
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Employer conducts drug testing and background check
