Job summary

Woodgrain Company in Rocky Mount, NC seeks a Class A CDL Delivery Driver to operate a tractor-trailer, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and deliver materials per the manifest. The role includes cargo securing, unloading assistance, and customer signatures on POD.

Qualifying applicants must be at least 21, have a high school diploma or GED, 18 months of interstate driving in the last 3 years, and a valid Class A CDL. Competitive hourly pay with OT and a benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 18 months verifiable interstate tractor trailer commercial driving experience within the last 3 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years and no more than 3 within the past 7 years.
• No Reckless driving; including speeding 15+ MPH and/or leaving the scene of an accident in the past 3 years.
• No at-fault DOT recordable accidents in the past 3 years.
• No DUI violations within the past 7 years.
• Valid Class A CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Operates tractor/trailer in accordance with Company Policies, DOT Guidelines, and applicable traffic laws.
• Conducts and documents pre- and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer.
• Secures cargo on trailer and ensures load is resecured after each stop.
• Delivers products according to proper route and schedule as indicated on the manifest.
• Moves material to the back of the trailer for customer to receive and assists with material handling.
• Opens/closes and secures trailer curtains/doors at customer locations for unloading.
• Verifies product accuracy by scanning tags and inspecting unloads.
• Obtains customer signatures on proof of delivery and reports exceptions to the dispatcher.
• Maintains truck/trailer cleanliness and reports problems promptly.
• Operates and maintains Mobile Electronic Onboard Recording device.
• Attends departmental staff and safety meetings.

Compensation: $23.07-$26.54 an hour based on experience plus OT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates tractor/trailer in accordance with Company Policies, DOT Guidelines, and applicable traffic laws during the day or night and in various traffic and weather conditions.
• Conducts and documents pre- and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer.
• Responsible for securing cargo on trailer. And ensuring that load is resecured after each stop.
• Makes product deliveries according to proper route and schedule as indicated on the manifest.
• Driver to move material to the back of the trailer for customer to receive and to actively be involved with material handling and assisting customer’s receivers.
• While at customer locations, the driver must open, close and secure trailer curtains and/or doors for customer to unload product.
• Ensure product accuracy and quality by noting product received on the shipping document scanning product tag numbers with a scanner and visually inspecting product as it is unloaded from the trailer.
• Obtains customer signatures on proof of delivery and submits to the dispatcher as required. Delivery exceptions are to be called in to the branch after each stop.
• Clean and sweep truck and trailer as needed.
• Operate and maintain a ‘Mobile Electronic Onboard Recording’ device.
• Report truck, trailer, equipment, and material problems and/or damage, accidents, and traffic violations promptly to the appropriate company official.
• Maintains a clean and professional appearance.
• Attends departmental staff and safety meetings.
• Must be able to pull a 175 Lb. trailer curtain open and closed at each stop as well as un-strap and re-strap to secure the remaining load
• Must be able to obtain a new DOT certified medical card and pass a Work-Well Physical Abilities test at time of hire

QUALIFICATIONS
