Job summary

City of Greenville (SC) seeks an entry-level Bus Operator in Training. This trainee program provides classroom and hands-on CDL preparation, with a six-week track for those who already hold a SC CDL and a 12-week track for new CDL entrants.

Participants will progress toward a full Bus Operator role, learning safety, routes, and customer service. The program includes a sign-on bonus of $500 with first paycheck and 2% of gross earnings during the first year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least six months of customer service or public contact experience.
• DOT Medical Examiners Certificate prior to starting the program and maintain for duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CDL License by completing the training program and passing the CLP and CDL exams within the specified timeframes.
• Complete Bus Operator Training Program covering rules, inspections, safety, customer service, and route familiarization.
• Operate buses safely on regularly scheduled routes and assist passengers as needed while following all regulations.
