Job summary

Republic Services in Kentucky is seeking a Driver Trainee who will be trained to obtain a CDL and advance to a Driver. The program includes classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and access to a loaner truck.

After earning the CDL, you will perform driver duties in Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines. The role requires completing 12 months of employment after CDL, and adheres to safety policies.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom study, on-route training, and the loan of a truck to take the CDL examination.
• Complete twelve (12) full months of employment with Republic Services after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the assigned vehicle to ensure safety, tire pressure, fluids, gauges and equipment are in proper working order.
• Operate a heavy or commercial truck along a designated route and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or by the dispatcher.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers; monitor waste for unacceptable waste.
• After obtaining a CDL, perform all responsibilities of a Driver in one of the Company’s lines of business (Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off).
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
