Job summary

Spee-Dee Delivery Service in St. Cloud, MN, seeks a Support CDL Driver to fill in on open routes, supporting daily deliveries. Flexibility with routes and schedules is required while upholding safety, service and on-time performance.

You’ll work Mon-Fri 7:00AM until route completion, with overtime opportunities and a $24.00-$28.00 per hour wage plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus. CDL Class A license (or company training) and DOT background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must hold CDL Class A license or complete Company paid CDL training.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned routes as needed.
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties like sorting freight and loading trucks.
• Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers in a timely manner.
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle.
• Collect payments as needed and verify pickups on shipping papers.
• Notify management of problems or discrepancies and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments.
• Travel may be required; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Support CDL Driver fills in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.

Hours and Wages

• Monday- Friday, 7:00AM- completion of route
• May be expected to cover variable shifts based on business needs
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $24.00- $28.00 per hour, based experienc e

Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
