Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service is seeking a CDL Class A driver to fill in on routes and support daily delivery operations. The role requires flexibility to cover varying routes while maintaining safety and service standards.

Starting wage $24.00–$28.00 per hour with overtime expectations; overtime paid time and a half after 40 hours. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for CDL drivers.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid CDL Class A license or able to complete company CDL training.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Good customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or unassigned routes as needed.
• Assist with daily morning duties such as sorting freight and loading trucks.
• Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers promptly.
• Inspect vehicle and report mechanical issues.
• Meet safety, service and delivery standards.

Job Summary

The Support CDL Driver fills in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.

Hours and Wages

Monday- Friday, 7:00AM- completion of routeMay be expected to cover variable shifts based on business needs10-15 hours of overtime expected each weekVoluntary OT on weekends (as needed)Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per weekStarting wage: $24.00- $28.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs


• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks and other duties as needed


• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers


• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle


• Collect payments as needed


• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers


• Notify management of any problems or discrepanciesMaintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle


• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignmentsTravel may be requiredPerform other required duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission


• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement


• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age


• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical


• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally


• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.


• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
