Job summary

DCS Asset Maintenance is seeking a reliable highway maintenance worker to perform traffic control setup, road surface repairs, litter removal, and equipment maintenance on projects in Memphis, TN. This role requires CDL Class A or B, physical stamina, and willingness to work from elevated positions and in on-call rotations.

You will operate hand and power tools, transport crews and equipment, and ensure safety standards while keeping highways and medians in good condition.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving.
• Must have a Commercial Driver’s license, Class A or B.
• Minimum of 2 years of related roadway/highway maintenance or construction, and/or related equipment experience.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Must be available to be on the on-call rotation for emergency response.
• Must have excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
• Must be comfortable working from various heights.
• Advanced MOT certified preferred.
• First aid and CPR certified preferred.

Responsibilities

• Creates safe Maintenance of Traffic; control by setup and removal of traffic control devices including cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.
• Creates safe traffic control by setup and removal of traffic control devices including cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.
• Maintain and repair highway and other surfaces including potholes, striping, adding, or replacing reflectors, delineators, working with concrete and asphalt.
• Maintains clean appearance of highways and medians through litter and debris removal and disposal.
• Repairs/maintains functionality of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, etc. through use of shovels and other hand or power tools and equipment.
• Controls vegetation appearance and growth through use of lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers and other methods.
• Maintains the appearance and functionality of signs, guardrails, fence, and lighting through repair and/or replacement using hand or power tools.
• Transport crew and equipment to work sites operating vehicle pickup trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers.
• Responsible for the proper management, preventative maintenance, and repair of trucks and equipment.
• Perform all other duties, as assigned.
