Job summary

Rock Point Community School is seeking a certified school bus driver to transport students daily and support safe, reliable transportation aligned with RPCS policies.

The role requires a valid AZ CDL with passenger endorsement, CPR/First Aid, and knowledge of FERPA. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, attendance recording, and supervising student conduct during trips and activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• AZ Commercial Driver License, Class B or C, with endorsements P and S and Arizona School Bus Driver Certificate.
• Updated knowledge of AZ Student Transportation regulations.
• Clean driving record for five years prior to application.
• Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid.
• Must have minimal knowledge of Dine language, culture, history, traditions, and its people for compliance in all aspects of educational programs.
• Current CPR & 1st Aide Certification and basic safety training.
• Must have Federal, Arizona, and Navajo Nation background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate School Bus and transports students daily as assigned.
• Transports students, teachers and/or chaperones to scheduled activities, such as athletic events, field/class trips, etc.
• Will maintain confidentiality and proper storage of files according to FERPA.
• Conducts pre-trip safety inspections as required by federal and state laws.
• Record daily attendance and discipline on NASIS and participates in required training.
• Notifies authorities in cases of mechanical failure or safety deficiencies.
