Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is hiring school bus drivers to safely transport students to and from school. No prior experience required; paid CDL training offered while you earn a salary.

Starting pay is $25.10/hour, with higher rates up to $32.84/hour for CDL experience, plus full-time benefits. Eligible to participate in state retirement, health/dental/life insurance, flexible spending accounts, paid leave and employee assistance programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and have at least three years of driving experience.
• Completion of First Aid and CPR courses; auto-injectable epinephrine training (EpiPen) and Defensive Driving Course.
• Must have a Valid Commercial Driver's License and pass background investigations and driving checks.
• Working knowledge of state and local school bus operation laws and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates school buses and maintains a regular schedule for picking up staff and students.
• Performs daily safety inspections and keeps the vehicle clean, heated and ventilated.
• Assists students on/off the bus and enforces safety rules.
• Maintains records and prepares required reports; reports incidents to school officials.
