Job summary

GFL Environmental in the United States is seeking a Roll-Off Driver to service industrial, residential, or recycle routes, collecting debris and recyclables and transporting to disposal facilities.

Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, DOT logs, and courteous customer service. The role requires a CDL, 21+ years old, and safe operation of trucks, often on tight routes with GPS navigation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; CDL required; must be at least 21.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate.
• Ability to safely drive and operate the truck.
• Experience operating a standard transmission (location dependent).

Responsibilities

• Drives a roll-off truck along designated routes to mechanically collect, exchange, or deliver containers.
• Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections; complete reports.
• Courteously interacts with customers and/or the public; notify supervisor of issues.
• Maintains cleanliness around truck and spills; safe customer site.
• Maintains DOT logs and route/productivity sheets.
• Maneuver truck into/out of tight spaces using mirrors.
• Uses maps and GPS to locate service addresses.
• Follows safe operating practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Monitors debris and ensures safety during dumping operations.
• Adheres to DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
